My presentatation on the Be The Change (letter)

On today 11/30/10

   I shall takle my presentation head-on, describing and presenting my Be The Change project. For those of you that did not get the chance to hear my presentation or to know what is about heres my letter to our representative Bernie Frank

To the honorable State Representative: Berney Frank
United states

Dear State Representative,
 I am writing this letter to inform you of the current hate and discrimination that is taking place against students who are trying to access a higher education in this country. As you may or may not know the majority of these students are the sons and daughters of illegal immigrants. The point that I am trying to get across is that education should not have a decree which restrains the youth from advancing, and furthering their education simply because of the lack of certain documentation. I for one do not agree with this suppression of these youth of illegal immigrants, they too deserve the right to a higher education. In writing this letter I hope to attain your support in my cause, to inform the public of the Dream Act. Through the Dream Act thousands, if not more, of young students who were brought to the United States as young children would have the ability to attain citizenship. This Act would allow these students to attend Colleges and Universities, the most helpful and useful effect would be that these students would also now be eligible for financial aid. The Dream Act is a necessary step to ensure that this next generation of students, which includes these children of illegal immigrants, can be successful and continue the Country’s progress. Everywhere I go I always here about how a Country’s future lies in the hands of its youth.  It is time for the United States, or at least Massachusetts, to start securing the success of this next generation, which includes both legal and illegal youth. Now that you understand my cause I would highly appreciate your support in any way possible to diffuse the great empowering effect that the Dream Act can have not only for the youth that I have been informing you about, but for this nation as a whole.

Dream act or something bigger act.. (11/16/10)

I understand that some of our brothers and sisters don't take advantage of the opportunities given to them but what about the people that are trying to make it, and take advantage of those opportunities which are unfortunately not as available as we would like them to be? The point that I'm trying to get across is; why hold someone back who is trying to progress in life and help people in the process huh? It just doesn't make sense. It irritates me to watch this neanderthal way of life in which only the wealthy have a say, aren't we all equal? Is society trying to discriminate and digress back to the stone age, racist age or Nazi era? I'm exaggerating since they are much smarter than this and will not officially call it discrimination but, what is this era called? I just cant find the purpose of these reoccuring situations.

Keeping the Thing Going While Things Are Stirring. Week 3 (9/21 and 9/23 / 9/24):

The declaration of independace of a survivor (11/16/10)

I hold these truths to be self-evident; that I am created equal; I am endowed by my creator with inherent and inalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; that to secure these rights I am instituted among other Survivors, deriving our just power from the consent of ourselves; that whenever any form of abusive or powerful actions which becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the Survivor to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new positive and empowering actions, laying it's foundation on such principles and organizing it's power in such form, as to these actions shall seem most likely to effect our safety and happiness.

Students often don’t know the rights it protects,” Linda Puntney, executive director of the Journalism Education Association, said in the report. “This all comes at a time when there is decreasing passion for much of anything. And, you have to be passionate about the First Amendment.” of course we do its our moral upbringingg to siciety, not big deal huh...
